Reuel's Guide to Multi-Booting This is a guide to multi-booting older microsoft operating systems, no info for XP or Vista here. It covers setting up boot menus and other topics necessary to multi boot between Windows 95/98, Windows NT, DOS, and Linux.

Build A PC This site is a very comprehensive walk through of all the individual steps required to build a computer from scratch. It is loaded with photographs and detailed instructions. It is also available as a book you can buy, but the author has included the entire book on the web site so you don't really need the book itself.

How to Build Your Own PC - Chapter 1 Purchasing Components This PC Guide site also has a very comprehensive walk through of selecting components for, and building step by step, a computer system. It does have pop ups and pop under ads and between chapters in the book there are ad pages that show for a set number of seconds unless you click their "Skip Ad" link to go to the next page in the book. It does have lots of pictures and detailed instructions on assembling a computer.

PCGuide - Intro to the PC - How the PC Works Another PC Guide site which starts with very basic concepts and explains how a computer works. It starts out very basic and gets more and more detailed and in depth as the document goes on. The computer is broken down into it's basic components by the guide and each are discussed in detail. This site is suitable for anyone from a beginner to advanced computer users as it gets very detailed about how things work but explains things in plain language.
