Browser Tricks

Easter Eggs are hidden screens and animations in different programs. Here I will be putting instructions for Easter Eggs in web browsers.

The first Easter Egg I can think of right off is in all Mozilla browsers which are Firefox, Netscape, and SeaMonkey. Type "About:Mozilla" into the location box on any of these browsers and you will get a screen with the following on it. [This image was captured from SeaMonkey but all of the browsers do basically the same thing.]

Mozilla Easter Egg Screen

This next Egg works in Internet Explorer. If you can't remember the number code in your html for light brown you can specify the color "crap" in a font tag to get light brown. Just code as follows:

<font color="crap">some text</font> and the text will be light brown.

This next one works in Internet Explorer 5.0 and above. Just follow the instructions below.

1. Open up IE5.
2. From the menu, select Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Languages button.
3. Press the Add button.
4. Type: "ie-ee" [without the quotes] and click the OK button.
5. Move "User Defined [ie-ee]" to the top of the list.
6. Click OK on the below dialog, then click OK on the Internet Options dialog.
7. Click on the Search icon in IE to bring up the side search menu.
8. Check out the new options in search.
