Part of the problem with evaluating just who really believes in what the right thing to do for this country, and the world at large is that the media, and our leaders cannot be trusted. We are given few choices for who will lead us, and those choices are supported, and controlled by the very rich. A true leader should not be influenced by the richness of those that support him or her. A true leader listens to, and responds to the trials and tribulations of the people under their leadership with positive action, than can be quantified in actual results. I propose that to insure that we have good leadership, that our leaders should emulate Ghandi, whose standard of living was no better than the least of the people under his leadership. To make sure that our leaders truly are motivated to improve the quality of life for all of those under them, they should be expected to, and made to lead a life that is no more enriched than the least of those under their leadership. In this way, any improvement they want to make to their own situation, would necessitate that they improve the lives of the poorest among us first, not by benefiting the very rich who seek to control and grab everything for themselves at the expense of others. Forty percent of the wealth of this world is held by one percent of it's inhabitants. This needs to change. There is absolutely no excuse for a very small percentage of the population to be obscenely rich, while people are dying from hunger on a daily basis. It is time that we call them to account, and make sure that their motivations are in our best interests, not the interests of the obscenely rich who are taking much more than their fair share of what this world has to offer.
