Special interest groups, and big money run this country with their flexing of undue influence upon our legislator's, presidents, and supreme court justices. There are several crucial steps that must be undertaken by the American people to break their undue influence on those we must depend on to insure our government is OF, BY, and FOR the PEOPLE.

First we must make it illegal for any of the above mentioned entities to receive political campaign contributions from any source whatsoever. Now that we have Facebook, all a prospective campaigner should be allowed to have is their Facebook page, and perhaps a tax funded, small, multimedia campaign fund, which will be equal in measure for all of them, irregardless of what office they are running for, or who they are.

This will insure that large campaign contributions do not sway the opinions of our government officials, and that the voters are not swayed by spin from over exposure to slick ad campaigns. Similarly, we must make it illegal for any government official to accept any paying position, or participate in any business ventures in a payed, or profit making capacity after their term, or terms in office.

This means that we will of course have to support them after their terms in office, as they can not be expected to live on the streets. They also must not be payed so much by this retirement pension that it would incite anyone to greed to obtain that same retirement position.

During their terms in office, they must be payed at a rate which is not above a normal government worker in any federal office of the land, and may no longer pass any legislation that changes the amount of their salaries by more than any change in the cost of living index.

All travel expenses, and living costs of these government officials will also need to be defrayed by a tax funded expense fund which is restricted to essential items only, with no extra frills, or expensive accommodations allowed.

No office holder may own any property other than the domicile in which they reside at the time of seeking office, and will relinquish any large amounts of cash, or other assets they have accumulated prior to becoming an office holder.

This will completely eliminate the greed factor from our government, and put it back into the hands of those that can argue, and win their points of legislation by means of practical, logical, convincing argument, not by wielding political clout, and will insure that those seeking office have no ulterior motives in doing so.

It might be wise as well to restrict their direct family members from all of the above mentioned activities, to more completely render the power of special interest neutral.

One more undue influence factor must be addressed, that of threats of violence, or other harm to, the office holder, and their families, and friends. These people should be allowed the government funded luxury of a well guarded gated community during, and after the official's terms in office. Once again, these accommodations must not be of such a luxurious appointment that it would incite greed in the prospective office holders of this land.

This is the only way that we will EVER have a government OF, BY and FOR the PEOPLE of this country, as we will then have a tendency for government slots to be filled by more altruistic individuals, not by those with a greedy cause behind them.
